Starting a new blog
I just learned about Bearblog and wanted to start a new blog about my journey with books and other topics.
As I leave old hobbies and focus on new ones, it is my way to find new joy in my life.
Big corporations continue to purchase smaller companies that provide a service I have loved for 30 years and later shut down and layoff people. It's a story that feels like a weekly occurrence.
Many of my old favorite things and services are disappearing. This isn't just a generational thing as many of these items are enjoyed by younger people too. Some of this stuff is helpful like traffic radio for your commute or local news.
Books and reading seem to stay around for us though. I'm currently learning about Calibre and syncing ebooks over to my old unsupported Kindle. Other open source projects are a great alternative to keep our old hardware running after Big Tech decides not to support it.
This blog is for me to journal my reading and other topics that replace my old hobbies that are enshittified by billionaires. Come along for the ride and thank you for reading.
